TechCrunch has an ongoing project to design a “dead simple and dirt cheap touch screen web tablet to surf the web.” The latest version, Prototype B, looks pretty nice.

It’s taking a while to get nightly XULRunner 1.9.1 builds available. At this point, I’d like to have nightly XULRunner 1.9.2 builds available too. In order to help anyone that really wants to start building against XULRunner 1.9.1, I made some unofficial runtime and SDK builds.

Steven Lau tagged me with the 7 things meme. He feels I don’t blog about myself enough and that is probably true. But then, who in their right mind wants to know about me? Benjamin thinks it’s important for people to know I’m not so one dimensional :)

The newest official XULRunner has been released. XULRunner 1.9.0.5 matches the Firefox 3.0.5 release. For XULRunner developers, most of the changes in 1.9.0.5 are related to security fixes. You can also look at the full list of fixed bugs.

Fennec Alpha 2 is now available for download! Desktop versions are available too (Windows, OS X, Linux). While we added some good features in this alpha, the primary focus was performance. Faster startup. Faster page loading. Faster panning and UI interactions.

Next week I’ll be in Mountain View, CA. Mozilla Mobile is having a face-to-face work week, gearing up for Fennec Alpha 2. As a remote employee, I enjoy getting together with the rest of the team.

Wladimir Palant announced yesterday that Adblock Plus 1.0rc1 will ship with support for Prism 0.9! Pretty cool stuff. Many Prism users have asked about getting support for popular Firefox add-ons. Adblock Plus has been at the top of the list. Thanks Wladimir.
